Count Zyx on SQL Server 2008 install error

Great advice. I'm totally adding this to my delicious! If I may add, based on the information I was able to pull using configuration file, you can also run this from a Command Prompt where the present working directory is the root of the installation files for MS SQL 2008: setup.exe /Action="Install" /INSTALLSHAREDDIR="D:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server" /INSTALLSHAREDWOWDIR="D:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server" Assuming you want to install in the D: drive, of course. And if you want to install BIDS on a machine with Visual Studio 2008 already installed, but not in the C: drive, check out this article: connect.microsoft.com/.../ViewFeedback.aspx Copy over that devenv.exe.config file to C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\IDE, or you will get an error while the installer tries to put in BIDS.
